Rated 5 out of 5 by N2KEN from Nice Basic Mixer with USB and FX SendI needed a few more inputs to add flexibilty for my existing mixer. I've used Behringer mixers in the past with good results, so I selected this model. The Q1002USB is a nice basic mixer with ample I/O flexibility and USB as a bonus. The compression on the MIC inputs works OK for monitoring, but does not fully replace a studio quality compressor. The FX send adds additional options for routing the signal. A nice feature on this model. Audio quality is fine with no audible noise or hiss until the preamp on channels 1 or 2 are set to +60dB. I have no hum or buzz issues. The layout of the controls and jacks are OK except for the placement of the headphone jack which is sandwhiched between the main out and FX send jacks. This make removing and inserting the headphones a bit difficult when all the jacks are populated. The USB interface offers simple connection with the PC. It was recognized by Windows 7 and no additional drivers were needed. However, there is very limited control over the USB I/O signal. If you need a bare bones way to route a signal into and out of your PC this may be adequate. Overall, this is a good choice if you need a basic mixer with a small footprint. Over the years, I've had good experiences with other Behringer products, and this mixer serves me well. The owners manual is very basic and will not be too helpful for a novice user. Hum and noise can invade any audio set-up with very frustrating results. It is usually a fault of grounding and cable wiring issues. Experience, attention to grounding and proper wiring will solve most of these issues. Behringer should pay more attention to these basic details in their manuals as other mixer manufacturers do.
