Once the FreeBSD installer has been downloaded in the last step, open VirtualBox to start hard disk configuration. Select the “New” button on the top left of the window to open the configuration window. Name your operating system as “FreeBSD”, then select FreeBSD from the dropdown menu as well as the version (32 or 64 bit).
Hi :I had tryed (many times) to install FreeBSD (4.x, 5.x, 6.0) on my notebook ( HP Pavillion zv5000).
(intel Pentium IV, mouse pad, HDD, DVD, Ethernet, ac97 modem, ac97 sound system, WiFi 802.11)
No FreeBSD distribution can boot on this machine.
Starts booting. Then says 'Loading acpi module'.
Then appears the rotating pipe for a few seconds, then it freezes...
and I have to turn off the laptop.
Yes I had worked the boot stages, hints, etc., but can not find the problem.
Have you a documented success case about this ??.
if not
What do you think is the problem ?.
Have you a solution for this problem ??
Thanks
